Resources for Deposited Students

Once you have been admitted and paid the tuition deposit to confirm your place in the DPT class, here is some information which may be helpful to you. Welcome to KSPT!

Once you are registered for UIndy courses, be sure to activate your UIndy E-mail account.

In the spring, you will receive a packet which will include a health form to be completed and returned to the Student Health Center. Questions regarding the health form may be directed to the Student Health Center.

You need to complete the CPR course: BLS for Health Professionals with AED by July 31.

APTA endorses United Health Care as a student insurance provider.

Joining the APTA as a student is required and may provide student discounts on textbooks.

DPT orientation will be August 22 - 24, 2012.
After you obtain your UIndy ID during orientation, then you may register for a parking permit.

During the clinical education sequence and when guest lecturers or Community Patient Resource Group (CPRG) participants come to class or lab, you will be expected to wear "clinic attire." A neat, clean, professional appearance is expected as follows:

• Polo shirt and khaki/navy/black slacks are recommended

• Modest shirts that cover midriff and low back when reaching or bending

• No jeans, no shorts, no T-shirts, no tank tops

• No exposed midriff

• Minimal jewelry (no dangling earrings or necklaces)

• Piercings of lips, eyebrows or tongue removed for clinic/mentor visits

• Shoes which support and protect your feet (no canvas sneakers, boots, or sandals)

• University-provided name tag

• Short , well-manicured fingernails; clear or nude color nail polish only

During in-class lab sessions: per instructor instructions, but commonly: shorts, tank top, sports bra or bathing suit top.
