Scholarships

The Dean of the College of Health Sciences annually awards the following scholarships to DPT students. Fifty-five percent of students in the class of 2011 received scholarships or assistantships from the University of Indianapolis. No separate application is needed to be considered for the following UIndy scholarships:

Advanced Physical Therapy Scholarship
This scholarship, endowed by the owners of Advanced Physical Therapy, P.C., JoAnne and William Jonathon, is awarded by the Krannert School of Physical Therapy to an outstanding graduate physical therapy student. The award is based upon financial need and merit and may range up to $2,500.

Marjorie K. Begeman Scholarship
Created to give financial assistance to qualified student(s) majoring in physical therapy. Marjorie K. Begeman is a physical therapist whose Indianapolis career spanned from 1954 to 1996. She and her husband, Robert H. Begeman, established this scholarship in recognition of the many people who have influenced their lives.

Harold "Herk" Cooper Memorial Scholarship
Herk Cooper served in the U. S. Navy as an orthopaedic tech before pursuing an undergraduate degree and becoming a student in our physical therapy program. This scholarship is awarded to a nontraditional student.

Hyde & Humbles Scholarship
Sally Hyde & Pat Humbles together served UIndy for 36 years as administrative assistants in KSPT. Both helped create the warm, supportive atmosphere that students and faculty have valued since the founding of KSPT in 1980. Upon their retirements in 2002, faculty, staff, and students recognized their service by establishing this scholarship.

Krannert School of Physical Therapy Scholarship
The Krannert School of Physical Therapy awards a scholarship to an outstanding graduate physical therapy student. The awards are based on financial need and merit.

Financial Aid
Semester I and II 2009-2010 tuition totals $21,870; summer 2010 tuition is $6,070.
