Jim Bellew is an Associate Professor. He has earned a Master of Science degree in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and a doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology with emphasis in muscle physiology. He has published more than 50 research-based manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts in the areas of muscle physiology, balance, and exercise training and is regularly invited to present at local and national meetings in various professional organizations. Jim routinely serves as a reviewer for several physical therapy journals and his primary teaching responsibilities are in the areas of Clinical Medicine, Electrotherapeutics and Physical Agents, and Exercise Science. |

Linda Biggers is an instructor, and she teaches Generic Patient Examination in the professional program and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation, Professional Issues, Pathophysiology, Integumentary Rehabilitation and Patient Care Orientation in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program, as well as being the PTA Program Director. Linda earned lymphedema management certification in 1996 from Lerner Lymphedema Services in Princeton, NJ. She has extensive clinical experience in acute care rehabilitation. She has also worked clinically in pediatrics, outpatient care and lymphedema care. She is an active member of the APTA serving on the Board of Directors in various capacities since 2000, and currently serving as the Chairperson of the Conference Committee. She is also a member of the Education Section of the APTA. She is currently working on her doctoral degree in health sciences at the University of Indianapolis.

Stephanie Combs is an Assistant Professor. She teaches in the areas
of neurological rehabilitation and movement science in the professional
Doctor of Physical Therapy program and in the postprofessional program.
Ms. Combs has conducted numerous regional and national clinical
education and training workshops in the areas of spasticity management
and body-weight supported ambulation training. Ms. Combs is a board-certified
clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy, and she is on
the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Indiana.
She has experience working with adults and children with neurological
dysfunction in the clinical arenas of acute care, inpatient rehabilitation,
home care, and outpatient rehabilitation. Ms. Combs is currently
working on her doctoral degree in Interdisciplinary Health Studies
at Western Michigan University. In 2008, Stephanie was awarded the Western Michigan University Interdisciplinary Health Science Department and All University Graduate Research and Creative Scholars Award.

Dyer Diehl is an Assistant Professor and teaches Neuroscience and
Neuro Rehab in the DPT program. Dyer's doctoral studies examined
visual and vestibular interactions during balance recovery tasks
and these findings have been presented at several national conferences.
Dr. Diehl maintains an active role in the clinic and currently sees
patients at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. While he has
experience treating patients with many varied diagnoses, his clinical
passion is for those with neurologic deficits and diseases. He is
an active member of the APTA's Neurology and Education sections. |

ANNE MEJIA DOWNS

Annie Downs is a Assistant Professor in the Krannert School of
Physical Therapy. She teaches courses in health promotion and wellness
and cardiopulmonary physical therapy in the Professional DPT program.
She is a Board Certified Specialist in cardiopulmonary physical
therapy. Annie works clinically at Methodist Hospital in adult acute
care, and at Indiana University and Riley Hospitals in outpatient
pulmonary clinic. She has published several chapters in cardiopulmonary
physical therapy texts and has presented nationally on topics including
the rehabilitation of patients with heart and lung transplantation,
cystic fibrosis, and heart failure. Annie is a member of the American
Physical Therapy Association and the American Public Health Association.
Her clinical interests are in the areas of health literacy, health
promotion, and the rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular
and pulmonary conditions. |

Margaret Finley is an Assistant Professor
and Director of the Movement Science Laboratory. Her doctoral research focused
on scapular kinematics during wheelchair propulsion and activities of daily living.
She recently completed a Career Development Grant with the Veteran's Administration
Rehabilitation Research Service investigating the effect of robotic assisted
rehabilitation in persons with upper extremity impairments. Her research has been
funded by grants from the Veteran's Administration, NIH and Foundation of Physical
Therapy. She has published more than 30 research-based manuscripts and abstracts in
the areas of wheelchair propulsion biomechanics, overuse syndromes in persons with
disabilities and robotic-assisted rehabilitation outcomes. Dr. Finley has presented
at international and national scientific meetings. She is a member of the American
Physical Therapy Association's orthopedic and research sections as well as the American
and International Societies of Biomechanics. She serves as a reviewer for numerous
journals including Clinical Biomechanics, Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical
Therapy, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Journal of Rehabilitation
Research and Development. Her primary teaching responsibilities are in postprofessional
program in musculoskeletal physical therapy and research methodology. |

STACIE FRUTH

Stacie Fruth is an Instructor in the Krannert School of Physical
Therapy. She teaches: Generic Patient Examination and Intervention,
Educational Roles, Movement Science, and Complex Medical Conditions
in the Professional, professional program. Stacie is also the physical
therapist at the University of Indianapolis-sponsored Fountain Square
Center serving un- and under-insured patients with a wide variety
of diagnoses. She has published a case report on rib pain treated
with joint mobilizations and trigger point release, as well as research
on the prevalence of patient education during physical therapy sessions
and a literature review regarding the prevalence of and interventions
for amenorrhea in high-level athletes. Stacie has presented at the
World Confederation of Physical Therapy, the Indiana State Conference,
and the APTA Annual Conference. She completed doctoral research
through a qualitative and quantitative exploration of physical therapy
practice in the emergency department setting. Stacie is a member
of APTA, INAPTA, and the APTA Education section. Her clinical interests
include: PT in the emergency department, sports medicine, orthopaedics,
chronic pain, and foot/ankle disorders. |

Julie Gahimer is an Associate Professor
in the Krannert School of Physical Therapy. Her doctoral studies
were in College and School Health Education and Public Health. Dr.
Gahimer teaches in the areas of neurorehabilitation and educational
methods in the professional curriculum and the core Neurological
track course, Educational Methods and Materials, and an on-line
Health Promotion course in the postprofessional program. She has
participated in, conducted, and organized numerous continuing education
courses and workshops throughout the country. Dr. Gahimer is a member
of the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as the Education
and Neurology Sections of the APTA. She is on the Editorial Board
for the Journal of Physical Therapy Education. Dr. Gahimer has presented
more than ten platform or poster presentations at national meetings.
She has authored multiple publications in the areas of patient education
and community health education. She developed several successful programs including the Clinical Update (a UIndy-sponsored continuing education program), and the Stroke Support Group of Community Hospitals of Indianapolis. Her major clinical interests include rehabilitation of adults with
neurological injury and disease. Julie was honored for her work at the Baxter YMCA by receiving a 2007 Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Sam Kegerreis is a Full Professor
in the Krannert School of Physical Therapy. He is the recipient
of the University of Indianapolis 1999-2000 "Teacher of the
Year" Award. Mr. Kegerreis is also a Certified Athletic Trainer,
Clinical Consultant to the Methodist Sports Medicine Center (MSMC)
and an Instructor in the MSMC Primary Care and Orthopaedic Sports
Medicine Fellowship Program. He has published in excess of 20 journal
publications and has made more than 100 professional presentations
in 25 states. He has twice been an invited speaker to both the American
Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and National Athletic Trainer
National Meetings. Mr. Kegerreis is a member of the APTA Orthopaedic
and Sports Medicine Sections and has recently won the Sports Medicine
Section's Educator of the Year Award. He teaches and works clinically
in the areas of orthopaedic physical therapy, manual therapy, and
pain management teaching professional and postprofessional level
courses on these topics. |

Stephanie Kelly is Assistant Professor
and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education in the Krannert School
of Physical Therapy. She teaches in the areas of neurological rehabilitation
and prosthetics in the professional program. She is credentialed
by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Clinical Instructor
and is a Trainer for the Clinical Instructor Credentialing workshop,
teaching several workshops per year. Ms. Kelly has broad-based clinical
experience in acute care, long-term care, neurological rehabilitation,
and care of amputees. She is the co-author of a research report
on amputee care that was presented at the APTA Annual Conference
and at an international conference in Melbourne, Australia and published
in Issues on Aging. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy
Association and its sections on Education, Geriatrics, and Neurology.
She is currently working on her doctoral degree in physical therapy
through Nova Southeastern University.

Clyde Killian is an Associate Professor
in the Krannert School of Physical Therapy. His primary responsibilities
are in the postprofessional doctoral program and he teaches in the
area of neuroscience in the professional program. Dr. Killian, a PT
educator for more than 20 years, has held faculty positions at Indiana
University, University of Indianapolis, Ohio University and Clarke
College. Dr. Killian was at the University of Indianapolis in the
1980s and was instrumental in the early growth of the Graduate Professional
PT Program and in the establishment of the Postprofessional Master's
PT degree Program. He advises doctoral students and teaches a variety
of courses related to research, statistics, and education. His clinical
interests are in service learning, treating adults with developmental
disabilities and in working with Hospice clients. |
