Clyde Killian is an associate professor. His primary responsibilities are in the postprofessional program, and he teaches in the area of neuroscience in the professional program.

Dr. Killian was at the University of Indianapolis in the 1980s and was instrumental in the early growth of the graduate professional PT program and in the establishment of the postprofessional master's PT degree program.

He advises students and teaches a variety of courses related to research, statistics, and education. His clinical interests are in service learning, treating adults with developmental disabilities and in working with Hospice clients.

Dr. Killian received a 2009 UIndy Faculty Achievement Award. The following statements were read at the award presentation:
Clyde Killian from the Krannert School of Physical Therapy is being recognized for his scholarship and service in his unit as well as his contributions in these areas to the broader campus community.  During the past year, Clyde published two research articles, one in the Journal of Medical Problems of Performing Artists, and the other in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.  As many of you know, Clyde is considered a “go to” person for questions related to research methods and statistics and is sought out by faculty and students alike for his expertise in these areas.  He has been an active and nurturing research mentor – always generous with his time as a volunteer consultant, and he chaired multiple student juried research projects.  In addition, he took extra time to assist International students in KSPT transition to life in the U. S. and to mentor new faculty.

Clyde and Sharon Killian at the Interfaith Peace Service At the annual UIndy Interfaith Peace Service, Clyde was the recipient of the 2010 Jerry Israel Interfaith Award. The annual Interfaith Peace Service is a reminder that the work against violence of all kinds and for peace in our world goes on daily. During the service, the traditions (Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and other traditions) come together for Peace.
